YankzWorld Studio (“YankzWorld”, “we”, “us”) is a web engineering studio based in Montréal, Québec, Canada. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information gathered through yankzworld.com (the “Site”).

We are committed to compliance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25), and applicable Canadian privacy law.

2. Information We Collect

We collect personal information only when you actively provide it to us or when it is generated by your visit to the Site.

• Contact form submissions — name, email address, company name (optional), selected subject, estimated budget range, and your message.
• Discovery call requests — name, email address, phone number (optional), preferred date, preferred time slot, and an optional message about what you would like to discuss.
• Analytics data — anonymised visit data (page URL, referrer, browser type, approximate country) collected by our self-hosted, cookieless analytics platform. No cookies are used. No users are tracked across sites. No personally identifiable information is collected.
• Browser preferences — theme preference (light/dark) stored in your browser's localStorage, never sent to our servers.

We do not collect payment information, government-issued identifiers, or sensitive personal information through this Site.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To respond to your inquiry or project request.
• To send a one-page engagement proposal if your project is a fit.
• To understand aggregate Site traffic and improve content.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making, profiling, or marketing without your explicit consent.

4. Analytics

The Site uses a self-hosted, open-source, cookieless analytics platform. All analytics data is processed on servers we operate in Canada. No cookies are set, no cross-site identifiers are used, and no persistent user IDs are stored. Data is aggregated and used solely to understand page performance and traffic sources.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

This Site does not use cookies of any kind — no session cookies, no tracking cookies, no advertising cookies, and no third-party cookies.

The only browser storage this Site uses is localStorage, which is local to your device and never transmitted to any server:

• Theme preference — stores your chosen light/dark mode.
• Privacy notice preference (key yw-cookie-consent) — records that you dismissed the privacy notice.

6. Data Retention

Contact form submissions are retained for up to 24 months from the date of receipt, after which they are permanently deleted. Analytics data is aggregated and does not contain information that could identify you after the initial anonymisation step.

7. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers — our email provider (Mailu, self-hosted) processes contact form submissions. No third-party email marketing platforms are used.
• Legal obligation — if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of YankzWorld or others.

8. Your Rights

Under PIPEDA and Québec Law 25, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Withdraw consent and request deletion of your data.
• Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.

9. Data Security

All data is stored on servers we operate and control in Canada. Communication between your browser and the Site is encrypted via TLS. Contact form data is transmitted over encrypted channels to our self-hosted email server.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the Site evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
